I’ve been having a lot of fun teaching the people in our private Facebook group, Holistic Diabetes Solutions, a whole lot about how a person with Diabetes can live a vibrant life despite it.  I’m living proof that you can live life to the fullest with Diabetes with a holistic (natural) approach.  For example, you can eat food full of flavour that won’t affect your blood glucose levels.  It’s just a matter of knowing what ingredients to swap to create delicious meals.

In our Trivia Tuesday segment in our private Facebook group, I posted this question to our members.  It stumped quite a few people who answered it.  Which answer would you choose?

Which of the following items is okay for a person with Diabetes to consume?

  1. Freshly squeezed organic orange juice
  2. Fruit-flavoured yogurt
  3. Organic ketchup
  4. 50% reduced sodium, nitrite-free pork bacon
  5. None of the above

Diabetes is the one disease we have the MOST control over.  That means that the choices you make for your health, including what you eat, makes a major difference in your overall health and wellness.  So it’s critical for you to know what you should and should not eat with Diabetes, and why.

It’s often mistaken that eating healthier means eating tasteless food.  On the contrary!  I’m a Diabetes foodie and LOVE food and after 24 years of mastering spices and what the myriad of healthy additions are, my meals and snacks are nothing but scrumptious AND don’t impact my blood sugar levels.  I have swaps for every option above including a link to one of them that is Diabetes-friendly which I share in the video below.
